It features pinned Lyman beaded blade front and folding ladder rear sights, saddle ring on the left side of the frame and carbine buttplate. The barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent date information ahead of the rear sight, "38-55" at the breech and "NICKEL STEEL" on the left side. The upper tang has the three-line model trademark information.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine. The carbine retains 90% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance thinning to a brown. The hammer and lever retain 70% original case colors. The loading gate retains 70% bright original nitre blue. The revarnished wood is very fine with some very scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
