Manufactured in 1893. The accompanying factory letter (photocopy) lists this rifle with an octagon barrel in 32 WCF, set trigger, checkered pistol grip stock and casehardened receiver when it was received in the warehouse on November 12, 1894, and shipped the same day. The barrel has dovetail blade and elevation adjustable sights and is marked with the two-line address/patent dates information and "32 W.C.F." The cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL." There is a tang peep sight. The stock also has an ebony grip inset and a solid crescent buttplate. The lower tang is marked "895 XXX," the stock inlet is marked "895," and the buttplate is marked is marked "895."

Fine. The barrel and magazine retain 20% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. There is some touch up blue and an area of minor pitting on the barrel. The remaining metal surfaces retain 30% faded original case colors. The refinished wood is very good with a recut checkered pieced repair in the wrist, otherwise some minor handing marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically fine.
