Description:

Most of the U.S. contract New Model Army revolvers were manufactured in 1863-1865, but the model remained in production until 1875. They were the second most widely issued revolvers of the Civil War (after only Colt's Model 1860 Army) and continued to be used during the settlement of the West and the late 19th century Indian Wars. It has standard markings and features, small inspection markings, an "OWA" cartouche on the left grip, and matching serial numbers on the barrel, grip frame, and grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 40% of the blue finish, most of the original case colors on the hammer, gray and brown patina on the balance mixed with some cold blue touch-up, mild edge wear, light scratches and marks, and faint barrel serial number. The grips are fine with a sharp cartouche and have minor wear concentrated at the edges which have some minuscule chips. Mechanically excellent.
