The included factory letters indicate this revolver was the sole gun of this type shipped on July 2, 1981, to Ron Stilwell, Director of Military Marketing & Administration at Colt's Patent Firearms Company in Hartford, Connecticut. Stilwell later served as the Vice-President of Military Marketing and as President of Colt. The older letter indicates that the revolver was shipped with both cylinders. The revolver may have been presented to an influential contact by Stilwell as part of a marketing effort. The revolver has matching serial numbers including on both cylinders (partial) and standard markings. Interestingly, the patent marking is double stamped. The factory "wood grain" box has a matching end label and contains a manual.

Near new in original box with minimal handling marks and a few slight factory blemishes. The box is fine with only slight edge wear.
