Manufactured from 1895 to around 1912, the Gaulois operates on a "squeeze fire" action with an internal magazine. Single bead sight on the barrel, with a sliding dust cover, roll-stamped floral/leaf pattern engraving on over 90% of the frame, and a three-position "S/F/D" (safe/fire/unload) safety switch. Overall finish is full blue, with a niter blue switch, casehardened action bar and a streaked orange/brown grip pad. Included with the pistol is a brown leather case, similar in shape and construction to a small leather cigar holder, bearing the Manufacture Francaise logo on one side and contoured in the interior to fit the pistol.

Very good, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall. The action bar retains bright case colors in the lower areas, and has been rubbed bright at the contact points with the frame. A few minor dings are visible on the grip pad, and the case shows some light external wear. Mechanically excellent.
