Description:

Samurai and regular foot soldiers used tanegashima from the introduction of firearms in Japan by the Dutch in 1543, through the mid-19th century. The ivy mon inlaid in silver on the top of the barrel was used by both the Shibuya and Matsunaga clans. The shields for the most of the pins are shaped like cherry blossoms.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall with an absent front sight and pin shields, dark patina, moderate pitting and oxidation, a modern replaced brass pan cover, sticky trigger, and crack in the stock at the breech.
