Only 16,402 Single Action Army revolvers left the factory chambered for .41 Colt ammunition compared to 150,683 First Generation revolvers in .45 Colt. Both cartridges were well-performing man-stoppers. This revolver was manufactured in 1891 with the original "black powder" frame design. It is marked with the two-line address on top of the barrel, has "41 COLT" on the left side, crescent ejector rod head, a well executed period engraved "FHD" monogram on top of the back strap and the two-line, three patent dates marking followed by a circled Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard and back strap.

Very good. The revolver retains 30% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There are a few patches of minor pitting. The slightly undersized grip is also very good showing a gouge near the bottom, high edge wear and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
