Manufactured in 1881. The top of the barrel has the one-line Hartford address, the left side of the frame has the three-line three patent dates marking, and the left side of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL." The ejector rod has a crescent style head. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder (2259) and barrel (2259).

Fine as period re-plated. The revolver retains 70% of the nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. There is some minor pitting (mostly on the cylinder). The grip is very good with the repaired right side having a missing minor chip near the toe and there is typical age cracking (mostly on the bottom). The grip has an attractive grain pattern and color. Mechanically excellent.
