Description:

Colt Single Action Army revolver with factory letter that states this revolver was shipped to the Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden Company in San Francisco, California, on April 7, 1927. The revolver has a blued barrel, cylinder, trigger guard and back strap, casehardened frame and hammer and two-piece, black checkered hard rubber grips. The grips have the Rampant Colt trademark in an oval at the top. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in one line and the left side of the barrel is roll-stamped with the caliber: "32 W.C.F.". The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the Colt "three-date in two-line" patent markings followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The left front trigger bow is stamped with a "3" assembler's mark above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark. The inside of the loading gate is stamped with the assembly number "76". The full serial number is stamped on the bottom of the frame ahead of the trigger guard and the partial serial number "93" is stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. The factory letter lists the revolver caliber as "32/20", the finish as "blue" and the stocks as "Rubber".

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The revolver retains 98% of the original blue and casehardened finish and shows minimal handling wear. Finish wear is limited to some very minor thinning at the muzzle and on the back strap. The frame, loading gate and hammer have vivid case colors. The trigger and screws retain nearly all of the original nitre blue finish. The grips are in mint condition. All of the markings are crisp and clear highlighted in white. The action functions perfectly. This is an excellent example of a pre-WWII Colt Single Action Army revolver in nearly new condition.
