Manufactured in 1883 and subsequently embellished in the 20th century. According to the Colt factory records (copy of letter included), this revolver was shipped to Hartley & Graham of New York City on 15 March 1883 in .44-40 caliber. It features standard fixed blade front and notch rear sights, a barrel marked with the one-line Hartford address on top and the etched panel "COLT. FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER." on the left side and a black powder frame with the three-line, three date patent markings on the left side. Matching numbers are on the frame, cylinder and grip straps. Overall, the revolver shows 70% coverage of fine scroll and punch dot engraving. With a smooth one piece grip.

Near mint as professionally embellished, with 99% plus of the nickel finish, showing some mild handling marks overall. Grip is excellent, with minor age cracks and a fine color and grain. Mechanically excellent.
