This rifle was manufactured in 1902 and has a eye shaped plaque inscribed "Dec MWG 25 02" on the left side of the butt. The rest of the markings and features are standard.

Very fine with 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish, 90% of the original case colors on the hammer, 70% of the original niter blue on the hammer, and some light pitting and oxidation concentrated on the magazine tube on the right. The refinished and repaired wood is very good with minor marks and dings and a professionally executed splice at the toe. Mechanically excellent. This rifle must have brought a big smile to someone on Christmas morning over a century ago.
