Dated 1944, this rifle was manufactured by Birmingham Small Arms and selected for upgrade to the "T" sniper pattern. Manufactured using hand-picked service rifles as the base, the 4 Mark I T was Britain's sniper rifle from WW II into the 1960s. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with the fixed "battle" peep sight properly removed from the latter, and the left side of the socket marked "M47C/ENGLAND/1944/B32706/ENGLAND/TR". It has a black wartime finish with a walnut buttstock, forend and handguards. The comb of the stock is fitted with a darkened, hardwood cheekpiece held on with two wood screws. It has the standard blade front sight with a "No 7" marked rear sight. The buttstock has the correct British acceptance proofs under the grip area along with a slightly offset "S51" stamping behind the pistol grip area indicating conversion by H&H. The top of the wrist is stamped with the number "10147". The underside of the forend is stamped with several British acceptance proofs followed by serial number "32706". It is currently fitted with a No. 32 sniper scope marked "H.B.M.Co." and "REGd No 10147", with the standard post and cross-hair reticle pattern, installed in a rough cast numbered to match the rifle with "70" and "71" on the rear and front rings, respectively. Included with the rifle is an "INTERARMCO" stenciled green/tan painted transport crate with an unnumbered nomenclature label on the end, inventory label inside the lid, and a metal scope case numbered to the scope (and a different rifle) with scope adjustment tool.

Very fine, with 95% of the arsenal refurbished Holland & Holland blue finish, showing some areas of gray patina on the receiver ring and scope bases, bright edge wear, and scattered handling marks. The stock is fine, with some scattered light dings overall. Optics are a bit hazy, with mild wear on the exterior, and the case shows moderate wear and tear. Mechanically excellent.
