Description:

Manufactured in 1955, the exact path this weapon took from the Soviet Union to the People's Republic of Vietnam is unknown, but included paperwork indicates that it was claimed in the field by Captain John B. Byers, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry on 5 July 1971. Adjustable post front and tangent rear sights, with the Tula "star" arsenal marking and "1955" date on the receiver cover and matching serial numbers on the receiver, receiver cover, bolt carrier, magazine, trigger guard and stock. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a tan canvas sling and a small cleaning kit in the buttstock compartment. It has been bought to our attention that when this rifle was inventoried from a collection in 1995 it was not listed as accompanied by capture papers.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 85% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing some light handling marks and wear overall. The stock is very good, with some light scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
