Manufactured in 1955. Red front bead sight and white mid bead sight on the solid rib, choked skeet, and 2 7/8 inch chamber. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked with "-MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. AMERICA-/-WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-", "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-", and "MODEL 12- 28 GA. - 2 7/8 CHAM./SKEET". The top of the frame and top left of the barrel at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. Removal of the buttstock reveals the "28" correctly marked on rear of stock retention bolt sleeve on back of receiver. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and breech end of the magazine extension. Mounted with a select walnut checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and checkered factory buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches, drop at the heel is 1 3/4 inches, and drop at the comb is 1 3/8 inches. With original box with matching end label listing the rib, gauge, and chokes. The label is also ink stamped "SPECIAL" in the upper left corner.
