Description:

This is a very good example of a pre-World War I DWM Model 1906 first issue/altered Imperial German Navy Luger. This series of Navy Lugers has the standard grip safety, 6-inch barrel with the altered second pattern (upper) arsenal remarked "GESICHERT" safety with no chamber date. The left side of the barrel extension has the double "crown/M" proofmarks with the smaller Imperial "crown" firing proof that is repeated again on the left side of the barrel. The frame and underside of the barrel are both correctly numbered with the full serial number "6674". The last two digits of the serial number "74" are correctly stamped on the various small parts. The back grip strap is stamped: "W.D./240". This Luger is complete with an original Navy magazine that has the tin-plated body with the wooden base with the concentric circles on the ends. The matching wooden base is stamped "6674".

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish with edge and high spot wear on the muzzle, front frame rails, side plate hump mixed with general light thinning of the blue finish overall. The smaller parts retain 60% of their thinning straw colors. The grips are in fine condition with nice distinct checkering showing wear across all the checkering mixed with light nicks and dings in a few places.
