Inverted "V" blade front and military style tangent rear sights graduated to 2,000 meters, milled barrel bands with stacking hook, matching visible full and partial serial numbers on the components, pre-war German "crown/B/U/G" proofs on the receiver and bolt handle, Mauser banner logo on top of the receiver ring, and "STANDARD-MODELL" on the left receiver wall. There is the remnants of "1937" military marking visible through the blue on the receiver ring (Mauser, being frugal, reused a rejected military contract receiver). Full length, smooth finger groove stock with a flat steel buttplate.

Very fine as factory refinished. 95% plus polished blue finish remains with a faint "1937" date stamp visible on top of the receiver ring, under the blue, clear markings, and some light edge wear and handling marks. The wood is also fine with small dings throughout, and a larger chip at the top of the comb. Mechanically excellent.

Patterned closely after the Mauser 98k military rifle, the Wehrsportgewehr was a popular practice weapon with individuals and paramilitary outfits. Blade front and 200-meter tangent rear sights, with the Mauser banner on the receiver ring and "KK-WEHRSPORTGEWEHR/MAUSER-WERKE A.-G. OBERNDORF a/N." behind the ejection port. Matching numbers on the barrel and bolt handle, with "eagle/N" proofs. Smooth pistol grip stock with brown leather sling and a smooth steel buttplate.

Very fine, with 95% of the professionally refinished blue finish, showing some light handling marks and spotting overall, along with some bright rubbing on top of the receiver and hints of a brown patina on the rear sight base. The stock is excellent, with some light scratches and dings. The buttplate has been cold blued overall. Mechanically excellent.
