Description:

This is an excellent example of a DWM Model 1906 Commercial Navy Luger. These Commercial Navy Lugers are fairly scarce as few were manufactured in comparison to the Naval military issued counterparts. The top of the chamber area is blank, and the front toggle is marked with the standard DWM logo. It still retains its original 6 inch Navy length barrel and the correct two position Navy type rear sight, grip safety, thumb safety marked "Gesichert", and shoulder stock lug. The left side of the barrel extension, barrel and breech block are stamped with only the late style "Crown/N" commercial proofs, with no other proofs. It is numbered in the commercial manner with the full serial number (54097) numbered on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel with the last two digits (97) stamped on the various other parts. It is fitted with a set of unnumbered checkered walnut grips. It is comes a tin plated magazine Navy type wooden base with the concentric circles on the side of the base, which is stamped in script, "Cal/9m/m".

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% plus of the blue finish remaining overall with only light high spot wear. Some spotting/blue loss is visible on the lower rear grip strap and center section of the front grip strap. The smaller parts retain 80% of their strap colors. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides.
