This blunderbuss was built around 2012 by Master Gunmaker Allan Sandy who has been building custom traditional firearms since 1988. It has a silver band on the bell followed by engraving, "Allan Sandy" in script with ornate tendrils on top, Sandy's "AS" monogram maker's mark in silver on the upper left at the breech, engraving at the breech, "Sandy" in script on the round face of the English style lock, a floral scroll silver side plate, "B" or "R" inscribed silver thumb plate, and beautiful sculpting and raised relief carving of the highly figured stock, and extensive silver inlaid sun, cloud, scroll, and floral patterns. While high quality American long rifles, jaeger rifles, and fowling pieces are fairly well-represented by contemporary makers, blunderbusses remain very scarce.

Very fine as custom made overall with some attractive light patina forming on the brass, minor scrapes on the face of the frizzen, and otherwise only minor handling wear. Mechanically excellent. Overall, a beautiful piece by a contemporary master maker.
