This beautiful A&S 28 gauge shotgun features a single steel bead sight on the matte rib with 2 3/4 inch chambers, selective automatic ejectors, standard Italian proofs on the flat, and improved modified/improved cylinder chokes. The left side of the lower barrel has been inscribed "ED HINKLE, LEXINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA" under the forend, and the upper barrel is marked with the Abbiatico & Salvinelli name in fine gold inlay. The bright coin receiver and lock plates feature deep relief engraved borders of detailed leafy scroll with gold inlaid abstract designs and fine gold wire inlaid borders. Each lock plate is inscribed "Abbiatico Salvinelli" with fine gold inlay. The trigger plate is signed "Engr. by S. Veuzi & R. Lauzogui". The break lever and tangs are similarly engraved. With a single non-selective trigger and tang mounted thumb safety. Finely checkered fancy European walnut forearm with a relief carved A&S coat of arms serving as the sliding latch, and pistol grip buttstock with carved tear drop flats and a leather wrapped recoil pad. The barrel and stock measurements are: chokes .005/.013; bore .548/547 inch; minimum wall thickness .020/.020 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches. With a leather bound takedown case with Abbiatico & Salvinelli interior label, two "A&S" marked nickel snap caps, oiler bottle, and two extra firing pins.

Excellent. 98% original finish remains with some light scratches under the forearm, sharp engraving, and complete gold inlays. The wood is also excellent with very fine figure, crisp checkering, some small scattered dings, and light wear on the leather wrapped pad. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with numerous scuffs and dings on the exterior.
