Manufactured in 1953. This is a very desirable example of a rare smooth bore .22 LR Shot Model 61 rifle featuring standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver and "-22 L. RIFLE-/-FOR SHOT ONLY-" following the barrel legend and a single bead front sight. Mounted on a 17-groove flat bottom forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with a plastic factory buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 85% plus original blue finish with loss mostly due to slide wear and some thinning to a brown on the barrel and face of receiver at the breech. The refinished wood is also very fine showing a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
