Manufactured in 1918, rifle production at Rock Island during World War One was relatively limited. Standard markings are present on the receiver, with the bolt handle marked "W L/3" on top and "X" on the underside. Smooth "S" pattern stock, with "RI" on the tip, grasping grooves, dual reinforcing bolts, script circled "P" on the underside of the wrist, "OEL/1919" on the left side, brown leather sling and a smooth steel buttplate with a nickel-finished oiler in the compartment. Provenance: Bruce Canfield collection.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 80% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild edge wear and light spotting and handling marks. The stock is very good, with some dents concentrated on the upper handguard, a short, thin crack in the top of the wrist, and some cracking and verdigris on the sling. Mechanically excellent.
