WWII M1 Garand originally manufactured circa July 1943 and later arsenal refurbished and upgraded to M1D Sniper configuration, probably for Korea or Vietnam. It is fitted with a standard Springfield M1D barrel marked, "S-A-4-52" barrel with integral scope base on the rear. Internal components are a mix of WWII parts that include a Springfield bolt and op rod with a Winchester trigger housing, (only). It has standard front and rear sights, with a post-war, wide base gas cylinder. It has a standard walnut stock and handguard set with the stock having a single circled "P" proof in the grip area, no cartouche on the side-fitted with a standard checkered steel buttplate. It is fitted with a laced on, dark leather cheekpiece that is marked on the side, "MRT/1-62". The rifle is fitted with the standard M84 scope that is marked on the nomenclature plate with "TELESCOPE/M84/SERIAL NO.15631" with "7667424" on the right side tube. The scope has a sliding metal sunshield and a rubber eyepiece. The rifle is complete with a late pattern prong type flash hider with no other accessories.

Very fine overall as arsenal refurbished into an M1D configuration with 97% parkerized finish, wear on the edges and high spots overall with finish loss on the right side receiver rail. The stock and handguard set are all in very fine condition showing minor handling marks and light pressure dents on the sides, from use and handling. Mechanically excellent. The scope and mount are also in very fine condition with only wear on the edges and high spots overall with clear optics.
