Description:

Manufactured in 1944 (Ithaca range, per Wilson), this pistol comes with a letter that attributes it as the personal property of Carl F. Schwensen, former Executive Vice President of the National Association of Wheat Growers and head of their Washington, D.C. office. A member of the NAWG starting in 1970 and VP from 1980 onward, Schwensen was reportedly given the pistol as a gift by a diplomat stationed at the Philippine Embassy. Said diplomat, unnamed, claimed that the pistol was his personal sidearm during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines, and that he scored three kills with it while engaged in resistance/guerilla activity. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the standard slide markings, "FJA" inspected frame, stamped trigger, thin checkered hammer, long grip safety, checkered thumb safety, serrated slide catch and arched mainspring housing, Keyes Fiber grips, "G" marked full blue magazine and a High Standard barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% of the original parkerized finish, showing scattered areas of pin size pitting on top of slide, scattered spotting, mild edge wear and handling marks. The grips are excellent, with a few small dings and some minor verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
