Manufactured in 1950 during the transition period (late 1945 to 1951). It has standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver and "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate, hooded ramp front sight, two folding leaf rear sight and fitted with a Redfield Bear Cub 2 3/4x scope on a Griffin & Howe Receiver side mount. The action races, follower, bolt and extractor are finely jeweled. Mounted with a one-piece nicely figured, pistol grip stock with quick lease sling swivels, cheekpiece, and recoil pad. The trigger guard is gold-inlaid "W/A/J", (consignor information states William A. Jones, received into A&F inventory in 1962, but no documentation to substantiate). Mounted with a one-piece nicely figured walnut stock with multi-point and heart-shaped checkering on the forearm and heart-shaped borders on the wrist. In addition, there is special order fine factory checkering behind the wrist. There is a metal grip cap, high comb cheek piece, solid Winchester recoil pad and quick release sling swivels. Information provided by consignor states that this is a factory and Griffin & Howe custom rifle.

Very fine as customized with 98% custom blue finish remaining with some minor muzzle wear and some thinning on the left side of the barrel. There is some normal thinning on the bolt handle. The custom stock is very good with a number of minor scratches and dings, and very crisp checkering. The markings are sharp and clear. The action is excellent. The scope is excellent with clear optics.
