Manufactured in Belgium, this rifle is part of a limited importation run performed by Browning Arms between 1959 and 1963. Originally approved by the ATF for importation only a limited number made it into the country before they reversed their decision, determining that the imported commercial FALs were too close to FN's selective-fire capable military contract FALs in configuration. Further import was cut off, and the ones already through customs were given a pass and added to the ATF C&R List. This specific rifle is listed by serial number on page 23 of the ATF C&R list. Long flash hider with an attached folding bipod, post front and adjustable military style peep rear sights, adjustable gas regulator with grenade setting, standard markings on the upper and lower receiver, and an "S/R/A" marked trigger group with the "A" setting locked out via a pin. T48 type handguard with finger grooves and a fixed buttstock with a flip up shoulder rest. Magazine absent.

Excellent. 98% original black finish remains with some scattered light scuffs and dings. The wood is also excellent with some scratches on the handguard from the bipod and some small dings. Mechanically excellent. A wonderful opportunity to own a scarce early import GL series FAL rifle!
