Manufactured in 1925, the second year of production. Dovetailed beaded blade Lyman front and elevation adjustable rear sights on a barrel marked with the Model 53 legend followed by "-25-20 W.C.F.-" on the left side and the two-line Winchester address on the right side. The Winchester factory oval proof is stamped on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The highly figured and checkered pistol grip stock features a factory hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. The left side of the lower tang is stamped with the assembly number 29 and a single dot. The Model 53 saw very limited production and fewer were built as deluxe variations.

Fine. The rifle retains 50% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The wood is also fine with a barely noticeable hairline crack near the upper tang, some minor dings and scratches and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. A scarce Winchester deluxe Model 53 that is missing from even the most advance Winchester collections.
