Manufactured in 1948. It features dovetailed beaded blade and elevation adjustable sights, the Winchester legend ending in "22 SHORT" on the upper left barrel flat, the Winchester factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver (factory double struck), the custom added roll die "WINCHESTER" marking on the left side of the receiver, gallery style loading port, 17 groove forearm and nicely figured pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as upgraded to current configuration. The rifle retains 99% plus restored blue finish showing a couple minor scratches. The wood is also very fine showing a series of minor scratches on the forearm. Mechanically excellent. A representative example of a Winchester Model 61 Gallery style rifle.
