Manufactured in 1890 and chambered in desirable .45-70 caliber. German silver blade and elevation adjustable sights on a no. 3 barrel marked with the two-line address and "45-70." The lower tang has the patent date marking and the serial number. The forearm has an ebony insert, and the straight grip stock has a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel has a mottled brown-gray patina and a series of tool-like marks at about the mid-point. The remaining surfaces retain traces of original silvered out case colors in the protected areas. There is some minor pitting on the buttplate. The lightly sanded, refinished wood is also good with a few hairline to minor cracks near the tangs and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
