Manufactured in 1900. It is fitted with hooded pin front, folding two leaf rear and Lyman tang peep sights. The no. 3 barrel has the two-line address/patent date marking and ".38 W.C.F.," all on the left side. The Winchester factory proof, which became standard around 1903, is stamped on the barrel and receiver. The lower tang has the patent date marking and the serial number, and the upper tang is un-marked. The straight grip stock is fitted with a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 75% original blue finish showing thinning to a brown. The refinished receiver retains 70% of the dull blue finish showing minor high edge wear. Traces of original case colors remain on the remaining surfaces. The wood is also fine with a long gash on the forearm (left side) and a number of minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
