The receiver and lock plates have fine English scroll engraving with sculpted recoil shields, and dual triggers. The rebounding locks are signed "W&C SCOTT & SON." The matching serial numbers is inscribed on the trigger guard tang. Checkered splinter forearm with wedge fastener, and pistol grip buttstock with a smooth steel buttplate featuring an applied non-slip patch. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .761/.760 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .100/.105 inch; chokes .760/.760; 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; cast is neutral; toe slightly in. Weight 10 lbs. 2.8 oz. Includes a leather takedown case with an inscribed silver plaque reading "A. Williams/Detroit" in fine script. Cleaning rods and "Ed Hollingshend/S.F," marked Wells Fargo & Co. Fine the barrels have a mostly gray patina with traces of a reapplied thin brown finish, areas of cleaned light pitting, surface scratches, and spotting overall. The receiver has a mostly smooth gray patina with bright case colors in the protected areas, sharp engraving, and crisp markings. The replacement wood is also fine with freshened crisp checkering, reoiled finish, scattered small dings, and a small chip on the right side of the forearm. Mechanically excellent. Case is poor with heavy wear on the exterior and interior.
