The barrel flats and water table have standard English commercial proofs. The receiver, trigger guard, trigger plate, and tangs are finely scroll engraved with all visible numbers matching. With dual triggers and tang mounted safety. Checkered splinter forearm with an Anson style latch, and straight grip buttstock with a checkered bare butt. The left side of the stock wrist and heel of the butt have been stamped "GWD". Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .667/.660 inch; minimum wall thickness .033/.034 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; 1/8 inch cast off; length of pull 14 3/8 inches.

Good. 60% original blue finish remains on the barrels with areas of a lightly cleaned gray patina, scattered surface pitting, some light spotting, and surface scratches. The receiver has a mostly mottled gray/brown patina with faint traces of original case colors, and light spotting. The wood is good with well-defined checkering, and indentations and bruises throughout. Mechanically good. Slightly off face, the barrels do not sit tight against the breech face, and there is some movement when the barrels are closed.
