While Krieghoff was by nature a sporting arms firm, the company never intended to sell Luger pistols to the public, and the Luftwaffe was planned to be their first and last customer for the product. That said, the military contract had much stiffer requirements for tolerances (headspacing in particular) then strictly mechanically necessary, resulting in a lot of perfectly serviceable barrel groups getting a "nein" from the Luftwaffe inspectors. Not content to leave money on the ground, Krieghoff made lemonade out of their lemons by sending out rejected pistols for public consumption. Fixed sights, with a "5-pointed star" rejection mark on the right side of the chamber, martially "eagle/2" proofed frame, commercially "crown/N" proofed barrel, extension, breechblock and frame, and a Type C-2 Krieghoff "anchor" logo on the front toggle link. Finish is primarily blue with straw finished small parts, niter blue magazine catch and springs, and a nickel finished magazine with an alloy base numbered "10892". Also included is a black leather flap holster with Krieghoff "eagle/2" proof inside and no other visible maker's marks (correct).

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing some mild rubbing on the barrel, minor edge wear and scattered handling marks. The straw color is 70% original, with some bright wear and rubbing. The grips are very good, with some light dings. The holster is good, with some scuffs, cracks, and some sticker residue on the flap. Mechanically excellent.
