Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, with the manufacturer's mark, date and "eagle/63" on the receiver ring and "Mod 98" on the sidewall. Stamped components, with a milled front barrel band, vertically marked stamped mid band, and "EJ" and a "dot/13" shield on the chamber. Smooth stock with "dot" and "eagle/H" stamps on the buttstock and a cupped buttplate. Included with the rifle is an "ab44" code bayonet, 15 inches overall with a 9 7/8 inch blade, red bakelite grips and a replacement mismatched numbered scabbard.

Excellent, with 97% plus of the original blue finish, showing an attractive bright plum tone on the extractor claw, some light spotting and minor handling marks. The stock is also excellent, with some light scuffs and dents. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is very good, with some light sheath contact wear on the blade and mild spotting on the hilt and sheath.
