Description:

Named for their association with America's airborne units, the U.S. M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine was solely made by the Inland Manufacturing Division of General Motors in two identified serial number blocks, with this one in the second block (May 1944-January 1945). "N" marked blade front and "PI" marked adjustable rear sights, with an Inland barrel dated "2-44", a Type III "SI" barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard, "H.T." flip safety and a "HI" magazine catch. The stock is the low wood pattern with a "slim jim" pistol grip marked "RI/8" on the underside, brown leather cheekpad with bright steel rivets and an oiler, and the spring-loaded buttplate with proper casting numbers on the interior. Four extra magazines are included packed into two U.S. belt pouches, one green canvas with illegible markings, one tan with "G. & R. CO./1943" on the back.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% of the arsenal refurbished parkerized finish, showing some bright edge wear and handling marks overall. The reoiled stock is fine, with some minor dings and scratches, along with some light wear on the leather. Some stains and wear are present on the pouches, with light patches of rust on the extra magazines. Mechanically excellent.
