Description:

This is a desirable semi-automatic copy of the famous Russian/Chinese RPD machine gun that was manufactured by Project Guns LLC of Boca Raton, Florida. The original RPD entered service in the Russian and WARSAW pact countries in 1954, then by the Communist Chinese in the late 1950s with several thousand used by the NVA/VC during Vietnam. It was truly the first "Squad Automatic Weapon" as it used a 100 round drum magazine, was lightweight and easy to carry and very reliable. This example was manufactured with one of the imported Polish parts kit with a complete, newly manufacture "semi-automatic" only receiver. The receiver top cover has the circled "11" polish marking and is dated "1959". It has a side mounted cocking lever with a folding bipod mounted under the barrel that uses a large belt feed drum magazine and is fitted with standard military sights. It is fitted with a short two-piece hardwood forend, serrated pistol grip and club foot style buttstock with trapdoor. Complete with a large quantity of belt links, Polish pattern canvas web sling canvas carry case.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 97% original blue finish remains with some small visible blemishes on the barrel, and light handling marks. The wood is very good. The forend has scratches and dings and the new production grip and buttstock have just a few small dings. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent.
