Manufactured in 1865. The top of the barrel has the one-line "New-York U.S. America" address marking. The left side of the frame is stamped "COLTS/PATENT." The left side of the trigger guard is stamped "44 CAL." The rebated cylinder has the roll-engraved naval battle scene and "COLTS PATENT No 3512." Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap, cylinder, arbor pin and wedge. The brass trigger guard is plated in silver, the hammer, loading lever and frame are casehardened, and the barrel and cylinder are blue. Comes with a modern partitioned case containing lead rounds, single face Colt patent powder flask with military/patriotic motif, "L" shaped combination tool, package of combustible envelope cartridges and Hyde & Goodrich cap tin.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 70% original bright high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The frame, hammer, loading lever retain 75% original case colors. Strong traces of original silver plating remain on the trigger guard. Nearly all of the cylinder scene remains. The grip is also very fine showing high edge wear and some minor dings and scratches with most of the original varnish remaining. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is very good showing a short minor crack and scuff mark on the lid, minor handling/storage marks, replacement lock and high spot wear on the lining. A very fine civilian Model 1860 Army revolver that will look great in any Colt percussion sidearm collection.
