Description:

Measuring 12 1/2 inches overall, the knife is equipped with an eight inch clip point blade, which features a slight upward curvature to the spine and a faint Rodgers & Son marking on the left side. The hilt is of German silver construction, with an oval guard, a light finger groove contour, a pair of smooth antique ivory grip panels, and the inscription "TRAVIS" on the back. Travis is unidentified, and the style of the inscription suggests application by an end-user. The sheath has a gilt embossed black leather veneer with German silver tip, throat, and belt hook.

Rating Definition:

Good. Both sides of the blade show light sharpening and edge nicks appropriate to a field-used knife. The left side has been polished, showing a few traces of cleaned-up pitting, while the right has been left in an original state, with erosion and dark patches over much of the surface. The hilt is very good, with a few light handling marks and dark spots on the metal, a small chip on the right panel, a crack through one of the pins on the left, and a fine antique color and well defined grain. The sheath is fine, with a few light scuffs.
