Description:

Lacking visible makers marks, this dagger is consistent with observed Will & Finck knives, and is outfitted with a boot sheath that also matches known W&F examples. Overall length is 7 inches, with a 3 3/4 inch long double edged blade leading to a smooth ricasso. The grip is smooth hardwood construction, 4 1/4 inches wide and deeply contoured. The sheath is German silver construction, with a small eye hook suitable for threading a cord or thin chain at the tip and a screw-adjustable brass mounting clamp near the throat.

Rating Definition:

Very good as modified. The blade shows mild spotting and scratches overall, with signs of heavy filing on both sides of the ricasso (around the locations where makers marks are often found on W&F knives) and a few light edge nicks. The grip is fine, with some light cracks near the ends and a few light dents, and the sheath shows some wear and tear appropriate to age and use, with the (Will and Finck style) mounting clamp in fine mechanical order.
