Description:

The 32 inch single edged, light curved blade has patriotic, martial, and floral etching including "ALWAYS READY" in large letters on the obverse and an intertwined "US" on the reverse. The gilt brass hilt has a lion head finial, intertwined "US" and leaf patterns on pierced guard, and engraved and ribbed German silver grip. The German silver scabbard has gild brass fitting with elaborate floral patterns and engraved floral scrollwork and patriotic motifs. There is a blank panel for a presentation inscription between the suspension rings.

Rating Definition:

Fine overall with traces of original gilded finish, light patina and pitting on the otherwise bright blade, crisp etching as well as engraving and cast designs, mild edge and tip wear including some small chips, and light scratches and marks.
