Description:

These revolvers were manufactured after James Maslin Cooper moved from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia in 1864 until around 1869. It has a low brass post front sight, "COOPER FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. FRANKFORD PHILA. PA./PAT. JAN. 7, 1851 APR 25, 1854 SEP. 4, 1860/SEP 1, 1863 SEP. 22, 1863" on the top of the barrel, matching serial numbers, and a smooth grip. Interestingly, it is numbered in the Second Model range but has the First Model markings, loading cut only on the right, and a non-rebated cylinder. The grip straps are silver-plated brass which was uncommon on the First Models.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 90% bright original blue, casehardened, and silver-plated finish, aged patina on the silver and exposed brass, some minor scratches and marks, a patch of flaked finish on the cylinder with smooth gray and brown patina, and minor edge wear. Grip is excellent. Mechanically excellent. This revolver looks like it was hardly ever used and has clearly been well-cared-for.
