Description:

These revolvers are believed to have been manufactured by James Reid of New York for W.W. Marston. William Irving is believed to have been an agent which is supported by the fact that he and Reid both used the 20 Cliff Street address. Only 1,500 of these iron frame Second Models are believed to have been manufactured around 1863-64. The revolver has a post front sight, "ADDRESS W. IRVING 20 CLIFF ST N.Y." on top of the barrel, grooved top strap, serial number on the bottom of the frame twice and the top of the trigger guard, the matching last two digits of the serial numbers throughout (barrel, loading lever, cylinder, grips, and grip frame).

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% original blue finish on the cylinder, 20% original blue elsewhere primarily on the barrel and in protected areas, some light oxidation, mixed gray and brown patina, and minor scratches. The grips are very fine with mild handling wear, some small dents, and light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
