The roughly 32 inch, lightly curved blade has U.S. martial themed etching, "SCHUYLER HARTLEY/& GRAHAM/NEW YORK" on the right ricasso, "IRON PROOF" on the spine, and the W. Clauberg maker mark/trademark on the left ricasso. The gilded brass hilt has an inward facing bald eagle finial with red gemstone eyes, floral pattern and "US" pierced guard, silver plated brass grip with alternating smooth and leaf pattern ribs, and eagle and shield motif on the pommel. The scabbard is iron with engraved and gilded brass fittings.

Good with a mix of original gilding and aged patina on the hilt and scabbard fittings, most of the silver remaining on the grip, mostly distinct etching, gray patina along most of the fair blade, some pitting concentrated towards the tip which is chipped, somewhat loose fit, and numerous dents present on the edge of the scabbard.
