Description:

Between 1863 and 1865, approximately 32,000 Model 1863 revolvers were manufactured by Starr. Of these, 25,000 were purchased by the U.S. Government. They were the third most widely used revolvers in the Union Army. This example has the standard manufacturer's markings, small inspection marks, cartouches on the grip, and matching numbers on the barrel, cylinder, frame and hammer cut-out.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 30% original blue finish (mostly in the protected areas) with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. A generous amount of original case colors remain on the hammer. The grip is very good with some minor-moderate pressure dents and scratches. The cartouches are mostly legible. Mechanically excellent.
