Description:

This rifle has standard blade and folding ladder sights, various London proofmarks, ".II/*/*/broad arrow" on the top of the receiver ring, "crown/V.R." on the tail of the lock, "1856/ENFIELD" on the lock at the center, and a smooth stock with "W.R." stamped at the rear of the left flat. The Snider conversion was adopted 1866 and manufactured until 1871 using Pattern 56 Enfield rifles. Some remained in use by the British military even into the early 20th century.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall as arsenal refinished with 95% plus blue/vivid casehardened finish, some mild pitting under the finish, and general minor marks and scratches. The lightly sanded and re-oiled stock is also very fine has some scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
