Description:

The serial number dates to 1900, and the rifle has the standard markings, blade front sight, Model 1898 pattern rear sight marked "C" on left front graduated 1-5 on the base and 6-23 on the ladder, traditional cocking piece, and handguard without the rear sight hump, and standard stock with an "1899" dated cartouche.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% plus original blue and casehardened finish, light scratches, and other minimal storage type wear. The stock is excellent with crisp cartouche, light handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. One will look a long time to find a finer example.
