This model was manufactured beginning in 1883. It features a blade front sight, Freund marked sporting rear sight, "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, NEW YORK" ahead of the rear sight (post-March 7, 1888), "38.55" twice on the bottom of the barrel along with "15325" and the matching serial number, standard Hepburn patent marking, plain trigger, matching numbered Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert, and a checkered round knob semi-pistol grip buttstock with sporting buttplate numbered to the gun and also marked "N."

Very fine overall with 85% plus original blue and 75% casehardened finish, smooth oiled finish on the wood, minor edge wear, light scratches and marks, mostly crisp checkering, and some subtle figure in the very fine wood. Mechanically excellent.
