Description:

Only 1,002 of these carbines were manufactured by Lamson & Co. of Windsor, Vermont. Delivery was accepted in May 1865 just after the war. They would have been one of the more advanced weapons of the war had they been introduced earlier. The magazine under the barrel holds seven cartridges, and the action operates somewhat similar to the famous Spencer carbines. This very fine example has the standard markings and features.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90%of the original vibrant case colors with some scattered mild surface rust visible on right front, 85% plus of the original plum blue finish on the barrel, and some extensive oxidation/pitting on the front section of the barrel. The wood is excellent with scattered dings and scratches and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
