This rifle is listed as the fifth earliest known No. 1 Schuetzen rifle and as formerly in Roy Marcot collection. It has a wind gauge globe front sight with spirit level, notch and folding ladder rear sight with sliding peep (parts absent), "40 1 7/8" on the bottom of the barrel ahead of the forearm, no barrel address (contrary to the book listing), short range Vernier peep sight on the upper tang, single set trigger, smooth forearm with steel Schnabel tip, palm rest, checkered pistol grip stock with iron Swiss buttplate and no cheekpiece, and matching serial numbers on the barrel, forearm, and lower tang.

Good with 20% original blue, traces of original case colors, and otherwise mottled brown patina, light oxidation, and minor marks. The wood is fine as refinished and repaired and has dowel type repairs on the wrist and bottom of the forearm, crisp checkering, slight chips and slivers absent at the edges of the butt, and minor marks and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
