The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with an 8 inch barrel, nickel finish and smooth walnut grips when it was shipped to M.W. Robinson, New York City on June 30, 1873. The barrel rib has the one-line address/patent dates marking, provisions for a lanyard ring (filler screw) on the butt, matching assembly number "283" on the cylinder, barrel latch and barrel, and matching serial numbers are on the butt and right grip panel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% original nickel finish with flaking on the balance exposing smooth gray patina. The grips are very fine with a couple moderate pressure dents and a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
