Description:

Manufactured from 1875 to 1889. It has the highly desirable blue finish as most of these revolvers were nickel plated. The one-line Ilion address is stamped on top of the barrel. The left grip panel is stamped "44," indicating that the caliber is .44-40. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame under the grip panel. The Model 1875 Single Action revolver was Remington's attempt to compete with the Colt Single Action Army. Many of these revolvers saw hard use in the Old West, and are difficult to find in high condition.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 60% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The grips are excellent with a moderate circular pressure dent on the bottom and some minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
